In March 2010 González y González commenced its operations as an art gallery. Founded by the art historian and cultural manager, Daniella González Maldini, the French-Peruvian artist, Jota Castro, and the Chilean artist, Patrick Hamilton, the gallery operated for 5 years inside a small apartment located in one of the most iconic buildings of the Bellas Artes neighborhood in downtown Santiago, generating a project space for a group of Latin American visual artists in tune with the international contemporary art scene; the dual objective of which is also to foster and enrich the local scene and to generate and encourage in Chile practices of collecting which encompass various perspectives and interests.
